The Blood of Jesus

The Bible tells us in Hebrews 9:22 "without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness."  You see in the Old Testament times an animal was to be sacrificed for the atonement of sins. The problem was this was only a temporary thing. It had to be done over and over again. But then Jesus came to earth as a sinless sacrifice to pay for the sins of the world. The difference being this was a permanent covering for sins which meant that it did not have to be done more than once. The blood of Jesus was sufficient  to satisfy the requirements of a righteous God. He was the only one who was worthy to pay for your sins and mine.

We are about to enter a week that is called "Passion Week."  A week in the life of Jesus that changed dramatically in just a few days. As Jesus made His triumphal entry into the city at the beginning of the week, the crowds were shouting "Hosanna." What a difference a few days make. Later in that same week the crowds were shouting "crucify Him." Jesus was crucified on a cruel cross not because He was weak or that He was a criminal, He died because He was the Son of God sent to this earth for that specific purpose. He died for YOU!!! I had a pastor once who often said that if you were the only one on the face of the earth that needed salvation, Jesus would have still come and still given His life for you. Why? Because He loves you that much. If you don't know my Jesus, I invite you today to trust Him as your Savior.

We would love to hear from you. If you need prayer or salvation, we would love to help. Join us Sunday as we worship our Lord.

God's humble servant,

Tommy Medley
